The unclothed portrait: when the gaze leads the line

My approach comes from a double inheritance: five years studying visual communication at Créapole, then years in art direction, mixed with a fascination for the iconic photographers of the nineties (Herb Ritts, Peter Lindbergh, Patrick Demarchelier). In their work a woman is never an object. The nude is neither gratuitous nor sexualised: it celebrates power, grace and what is alive.

I call my work unclothed portraits. Even when the body is exposed, you always enter the image through the gaze. The eyes carry the emotion; the diagonals, the muscular tension and the breaking up of the poses extend that intention. It is demanding graphic work, often physical, where every line has its reason to be there.

In session: genuine teamwork

Stepping in front of the lens is never a small thing, still less on an intimate project. My absolute priority is to build together a rigorous frame of listening, respect and safety. Nothing is imposed, everything is discussed.

Every shoot is a dynamic collaboration. With my flashes I like to sculpt several moods across a session (from a soft chiaroscuro to a very contrasted light) so that each series tells a different facet. Whether the model is highly experienced or taking their first steps, we talk over the screen, we try bolder postures, we adjust. That shared confidence is what allows people to let go, and it gives powerful, living images.

The members' space: keeping photography free

Instagram is a fine tool for sharing a glimpse, but between imposed crops and moderation that is often absurd, many of my images cannot live there fully. The platforms constrain visual freedom.

To keep a photographic practice pure, with no flattering retouching and no crop imposed by an algorithm, I created a members' space on Patreon. Joining that archive is not leaving a tip: it is becoming the patron of independent work. There you find the complete galleries of my sessions, with no blur and no censorship, exactly as I conceived and lit them. A real boost that lets me keep creating in full freedom.
